Istanbul – From Turkey to Korea, there are seven countries considered “East side”: a business worth over 31 billion per year for Lombardy, one-seventh of the regional foreign trade, and a ‘speedy’ one: a + 5.1% in 2015, greater than the Italian (+ 1.3%) and than the Lombard average towards other countries (+ 3.1%). Thanks above all to import from China (€11.8 billion), Russia (2.1 billion) and Turkey (1.7 billion) and exports to China (3.4 billion), Turkey (2.7 billion) and Russia (2 billion). The greatest growths in the last year are imports from Iran (+ 26.5%), China (+ 13%) and Turkey (+ 12.4%) and exports to the United Arab Emirates (+ 30%), Iran (+ 12%) and India (+ 11%). Milan alone reaches 14 billion in exchange but Bergamo, Brescia and Varese exceed 2 billion. (9colonne)
