(July 7, 2016) The art historian, Costantino D’Orazio reveals Leonardo Da Vinci’s last enigma at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tokyo at a conference scheduled for Wednesday July 27 at 18:30 for the release of his book “Leonardo Segreto” in Japan. Leonardo, one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance period, had to wait more than twenty years before being recognised. During this time he focused on painting, sculpture and engineering works that he never completed. How can this be? Why is the Adoration of the Magi in the Uffizi incomplete? Why is the Mona Lisa incomplete? Painter, sculptor, inventor, scientist, musician and architect. The eclectic Leonardo Da Vinci was considered one of the greatest geniuses of humanity, author of the most famous painting in the world, the precursor to many numerous modern inventions, however still remains one of the most enigmatic characters in history. There are many questions surrounding his character such as why he has never brought any of his works to term? Why has a great scientist such as himself painted a Last Supper that is so fragile? Why are we incapable of identifying none of the figures he portrays? The life and works of Da Vinci are a puzzle that Constantino D’Orazio attempts to decipher using a new interpretative key, using his paintings has Ariadne’s thread in the exploration of the artist’s labyrinthine mind.
