Milan. Two published works in Nature Genetics, Italian science reaffirms its role in the battle against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Double attack on familial SLA and sporadic SLA by the IRCCS Italian Axiological Institute, department of physiopathology and transplants and from the Dino Ferraro Centre of the University of Milan, that is on the front lines of this important international achievement. “We can’t say yet for certain whether ALS will disappear completely any time soon, however we can say that Italian research has been working towards this goal for many years, in both diagnostic and therapeutic terms. Today, two important pieces are added to the puzzle that can be considered ‘groundbreaking’ for their length, their importance in the research sector, and the journal that today will be spread their results.
