(August 2, 2016) A journey into the Arctic Ocean at the discovery of Italian and international scientific fringe research. On July 20 the boys of the IVluc class of Fabio Filzi high school in Rovereto, left for the Svalbard islands, and in recent days they got back to Italy, but first they stopped in Norway. After intense days of trekking, hiking, field measurements and visits to universities and research centers, the students were received by Tommaso Andria, First Counselor of the Italian Embassy in Oslo, who expressed great appreciation for the Reset project ( Research and Education Experience Svalbard), through which the students were given the opportunity to become the first Italian class to make a study trip to Svalbard Islands, the permanent settlement near the North Pole. A project supported by the CNR-National Research Council, the Autonomous Province of Trento, and self-financing students through a crowfunding campaign, which involved public and private sponsors, allowing 20 participants, accompanied by teachers Matteo Cattadori and Domenico Fiorillo, and CNR Federico Giglio, to collect about 30 thousand euro.
