(August 12, 2016) Italian painting and music will be the stars of the Russian art scene in September. Thanks to the cooperation between Italian and Russian cultural institutions, with the support of Italian Embassy, three major initiatives landed in Moscow. On September 2 at the Pushkin Museum will open the exhibition “Raphael and the Face Poetry”, an extraordinary exhibition of Urbino’s Master works, which will bring in the Russian capital masterpieces from Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace Palatine Gallery, Marche National Gallery and the National Picture Gallery. From September 10 to 16 the Teatro alla Scala orchestra will instead be on tour with the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow as part of “The Cherry Festival”. The tour, which promises to be a milestone in the collaboration between the two theaters, will offer a program centered around the works and music by Giuseppe Verdi, with the performances of the Requiem Mass and the “Simon Boccanegra” symphony opera. Finally, on Septmber 20 will be opened, again at the Pushkin Museum, the exhibition “Piranesi. Masterpieces by Russian and foreign collections”, a comprehensive retrospective on the famous Italian landscape artist. The embassy also invites to follow its own Facebook and Twitter channels (@ItalyinRussia) to be updated on the “Italian September”. (Red)
