(September 20, 2016) Nine cartoonists from different countries of Europe present their works in Frankfurt in the exhibition “Graphic Novels from Europe.” The exhibition – which will be inaugurated on Wednesday September 21 at the Cervantes Institute and will be open until Saturday, November 19 – is presented by Frankfurt Eunic (Italian Institute of Culture in Cologne, Istituto Cervantes, Institut français d’histoire en Allemagne and Goethe Institut) with Berlin Eunic and the Swiss Consulate General in Frankfurt support. “Graphic Novels from Europe” not only puts in light the great cartoon art expressiveness, but also analyzes the present currents, both regarding the artistic realization and the choice of the content. The nine artists featured in the exhibition are Sara Colaone, Aisha Franz, Michel Kichka, Olivier Kugler, Olivier Schrauwen, Paco Roca, Riad Sattouf, Joan Sfar and Matthias Gnehm. Three pages of each “graphic novel” of the artists in the German translation will be exhibited and, in addition to presented extracts, all works will be available for consultation. (Red)
