Le Bourget. 17 Leonardo-Finmeccanica Osprey electronic scanning radar (AESA – Active Electronically Scanned Array) were selected by the US Navy for the unmanned MQ-8C Fire Scout helicopter upgrade programme MQ-8C. The helicopter is capable of taking off from American combat ship decks and will be used as part of maritime patrol missions. The agreement provides for an initial delivery of five radars to the Naval Air Systems Command (Navair) of the US Navy for testing and evaluation, with the option to purchase a number of other applications for operating systems.
