(21 October, 2016) “Fashion speaks Italian” and is inspired by art. This is the theme of the fashion show that was organised by students from the Fashion Institute of Beijing, hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in the context of the Italian Language in the World Week in China. The approximately 30 emerging stylists, guided by Professor Yang Jie, have reinterpreted the works of art of the famous painter from Ferrara, Giovanni Boldini and inspired by the exhibition “Boldini, Master of the Belle Epoque” at the China Millenium Art Museum on Beijing. “The collection exhibited by the students, is a homage to the Italian style which is reflected in the visual arts as well as fashion, literature and design, in a bridging of the past and the present” has stated Professor Yang Jie. Yang Jie, who has studied and specialised in Italy, has participated in this year’s independent section at the Triennale di Milano. “Boldini, Master of the Belle Epoque” inaugurated by the Minister of Culture and Tourism Dario Franceschini on the occasion of his visit to China, ran from July 20 until October 9 and attracted more than 20,000 visitors.
