Washington. A research conducted by researchers of the Physics and Chemistry Department of the University of Palermo was published on “AAS Nova”. The study shows how the emission of X and XUV waves measured in Venus’s shadow during its transition in front of the Sun is compatible with the diffusion of solar radiation from Venus’s magnetic tail. It is a sort of gigantic tail belonging to Venus’s atmosphere due to solar winds. In addition, this could provide new ways to study this magnetic tail. The “AAS Nova”, part of the American Astronomical Society (AAS), is dedicated to shed light on some of the most interesting results published on AAS journals to give authors and results more visibility and to provide researches with a wide range of information on current research. The AAS has selected the article “X-raying the dark side of Venus-Scatter from Venus magnetotail?” by M. Afshari, G.Peres, P.R. Jibben, A. Petralia, F. Reale and M. Weber recently published on Astronomical Journal. (9colonne)
