(November 18, 2016) The Italian consul general in Sydney, Arturo Arcano, will inaugurate the exhibition “Miti e colori- Myths and colour” by the Italian artist Natino Chirico. The exhibition will remain open to the public until December 13. It is the result of a collaboration between the Wentworth Gallery in Sydney, the Italian Consulate General, the Italian Cultural Institute, the Chamber of Commerce and Nick Scali furnishings. The work of the artist, who is intolerant to constraints and partnerships, plays on a continuous research and an ever-changing experiment that led him to face different themes and techniques over the years, and to experiment with different experiences such as that of a designer in the world of fashion (Versace and Ken Scott), an illustrator in the publishing field, and create paintings, graphic works and sculptures for many large companies. In recent years, his talent as a portraitist in the field of design emerged whereas cinema remains a main theme in his painting: he dedicates many exhibitions across Italy and abroad to his protagonists. He has included methacrylate in his works, either singularly or combined with oil painting and to different materials to produce a pictorial and sculptural composition. Chirico is very active, displaying from Reggio Calabria, Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin, Venice, Catania, Cosenza, Perugia and Todi to Paris, Warsaw, Brussels, Berlin, New York, San Francisco and Moscow. He has also participated in many collective exhibitions, competitions, awards and has been awarded both nationally and internationally. His works are displayed in various museums, private collections and institutions. Natino Chirico lives and works in Rome and Perugia. (Red)
