(December 26, 2016) The Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana, in collaboration with the National Library of Albania, organizes the presentation of the book “Brenga ime shqiptare” ( “My Albanian Blues”) by Aldo Renato Terrusi. The event is scheduled for January 19 (11 AM) at the Albanian National Library. A journey in search of one’s origins and one’s history: “Brenga ime shqiptare” tells Aldo and Uncle Giacomo’s journey returning to Albania after forty-four years. Aldo was still a child when the regime of Enver Hoxha imprisoned his father in the terrible prison of Burrel, where he died without being able to give a final farewell to his son and his wife. The desire for Aldo to repatriate the remains of the parent meets with the painful past of Terrusi family in Albania and a nation that still bears the signs of tearing dictatorship. Through family memories, testimonies, and photographs of the original documents of the trial suffered from his father in 1945, he will retrace the dramatic events of the darkest page in the history of the country of the Eagles.
