(28 December, 2016) Today ENI has signed new lending agreements for the offshore blocks of North El Hammad and North Ras El Esh located in Egypt’s territorial waters. The company obtained this through the competitive International Bid Round, Egas 2015. These new allocations, following the recent onshore Southwest Meleiha blocks, and Shorouk, Karawan and North Leil, located in deep Egyptian waters- ultimately consolidate ENI’s portfolio and position in Egypt. The country has always been of historic and strategic importance to the company. They also highlight the determination to explore the nation further after crucial discoveries in Nooros, Zohr, and Baltim South West in 2015 and 2016.
