(5 January 2016) “Lo spazio vissuto. Riflessioni, disegni e sculture di Antonio Violano” (Lived Space: Reflections, designs and sculptures by Antonio Violano) is the title of the exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute of Barcelona on dispaly from 12 January to 10 February. According to Francesc Miralles in “Violano pensament abstracte”; “Antonio Violano has remarkable pauses and variations. However, this remark is merely a mirage. There is no figurative nor abstract Violano: there is simply a Violano who in one way or another delves into the visual vocabulary of ancient classical sculpture. Violano navigates antiquity adding his own shapes and compositions. He is similarly inspired by the city of Barcelona – adopting new spaces and compositions from the urban landscape”. (Red)
