(6 January 2017) The Teatro La Fenice of Venice Orchestra will be performing Rossini, Wagner, and Rachmaninov in the most prestigious theatres in Switzerland: Geneva, Lucerne, and Zürich. Show times published on the Italian Cultural Institute of Zurich website are: 15 January at Victoria Hall Geneva (18:00), 16 January at KKL Lucerne (19:30), and finally 17 January at Tonhalle Zürich (19:30). The Orchestra Filarmonica La Fenice is composed of approximately 90 musicians from the Teatro La Fenice Foundation. In keeping with the theatre’s history, the orchestra focuses primarily on the great operatic repertoire of the theatre, thus demonstrating its pursuit of musical prestige within the global landscape of international orchestras.
