Tripoli. The reopening of the Italian Embassy in Tripoli represents “a strong signal of confidence in the stabilisation of that country”. Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano during his meeting with the European Commissioner for Migration, Home Affairs, and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos – stressed that “Italy is working very hard to strengthen bilateral cooperation in terms of controlling the migration transit points in Southern border between Libya and Niger and towards the fight against illegal immigration and human trafficking. When Libya will be able to fully cooperate on these issues, we expect the European Union and the international community to be ready to launch support programmes and joint initiatives because we are all in it together, no country excluded. “(9Colonne)
