(February 22, 2017) On the occasion of the Italian Design Day in 100 locations around the world, 100 “ambassadors” of Italian culture (designers, entrepreneurs, journalists, critics, communicators, teachers…) will illustrate the concept of excellence. Riccardo Falcinelli will be the ambassador in Dublin – on March 3, from 18.30 to 20 – at the Italian Institute of Culture. In the contemporary world design is everywhere: it can be used, lived, enjoyed, manipulated, exploited, wasted, destroyed, recycled; but above all it can be “seen”. And through sight it informs, narrates and seduces us. Riccardo Falcinelli – starting from his book Critica portatile al visual design (Einaudi) – will present a vision of contemporary visual design that surrounds us at all times and in all environments. Riccardo Falcinelli is one of the most esteemed visual designers in the world of Italian graphic design where he has been responsible for fundamental innovations through original projects for leading publishing houses in Italy. He teaches Psychology of Perception at the faculty of design ISIA in Rome. (Red)
