(5 April, 2017) Cinema is synonymous with ‘art’, ‘emotion’, ‘wonder’ and it also means ‘film festival’ like the one taking place in Lisbon until April 13th “Italian Film Festival in Portugal” – the biggest festival dedicated to Italian cinema has reached its 10th edition. It is organised by ‘Il Sorpasso’ Association and by the ‘Cappella Underground of Trieste’ thanks to the collaboration and support of the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Lisbon, MIBACT Cinema Division, Istituto Luce & dell’Anica and important local institutions. The Film Festival will take place in 5 different Portuguese cities simultaneously: Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa – Museu do Cinema and Cinema UCI – El Corte Inglés in Lisbon as well as Porto, Coimbra, Almada and Setúbal. After the first 5 cities, the film festival will proceed to cover the whole country from North to South – a total of 15 cities before reaching Brazil, Angola and Mozambique. The programme includes a selection of 50 films from Italian contemporary cinema including a tribute to the great masters of Italian cinema of the past. Many film premieres such as “Fai bei sogni” by Marco Bellocchio which opens the festival and “In guerra per amore by Pierfrancesco Diliberto at the close of the festival (April 13th) which he will attend.
