(May 2, 2017) The “Made in Macerata” Pavilion is located in the Trade Center of Taicang in China. It houses the products of excellence from companies of Macerata and was inaugurated in the past days with a ceremony in the presence of the Chinese authorities and the delegation of the Municipality of Macerata. “It is a great honour to bring to the city of Macerata to Taicang in this new opportunity for growth together. Together, we are walking down a path of friendship paved by Lì Madou and Father Matteo Ricci” stated Deputy Mayor of Macerata, Stefania Monteverde, in her opening remarks to guests at the inaugural ceremony. There are 14 companies from Macerata that have joined the project of promoting Macerata through their quality products by the Municipality of Macerata in collaboration with the Government of Taicang, Confindustria Macerata and the advertisement company, Exit, of the Chamber of Commerce. “Our ‘Made in Italy’ brand is the product of our hands – hands of artisans who have a great family history, high quality products and culture. This is our excellence” added the Deputy Mayor. The company’s products were accompanied with a fashion show – dresses, bags, shoes and wine, oil, and chocolate tastings. The Italian delegation, including Deputy Mayor Monteverde, included Paola Casoni, superintendent of the Macerata Opera Festival; Luciano Messi; Carlo Cipriani, representative of Confindustria Marche; and Alessandro Campetella, a chef of the Italian Cuochi Federation. For Italian Food Week in Taicang, Macerata is a protagonist of ‘Made in Italy’: there will be an area in the shopping centre dedicated to the history of Macerata set up with photographs of the city. A taste of Italian cuisine is offered by Macerata chef Alessandro Campetella who prepared traditional dishes – also representing the Cuochi Macerata Federation. (Red)
