Tehran – Italy is the Guest Country of Honour at the Teheran Book International Fair on 13 May in Teheran. Saturday 6 May will be dedicated to the themes of Myth and Fantasy. Valerio Massimo Manfredi is among the most acclaimed Italian authors abroad. His work has been translated in 60 different countries. Manfredi, introduced by Carlo Cereti, will guide the audience in an adventurous exploration of the thin line that separates reality and legend in historical literature – a field in which he is an expert. Pinocchio’s mischiefs are set in a new era that is undefined by spells of imagination: the most famous puppet in the world and very popular in Iran, will be at the centre of a talk with illustrator Guido Scarabottolo who will talk about his minimalist reinterpretation of the character in conversation with his Iranian colleague, Elham Asadi.
