Beijing. The Theatre of the Italian Institute of Culture in Beijing is hosting Mezzotono’s concert “Mad in Italy” tomorrow at 19:00. Mezzotono is a small Italian orchestra without instruments composed of Alessandro Gnolfo, Maurizio Semeraro, Fabio Lepore, Gaia Gentile, and Daniela Desideri. A performance performed entirely in a capella voices, in contact with the public. Authentic ambassadors of Italian music in the world, the Mezzotono have been engaged in prestigious world tours for many years. They have visited 39 countries in four different continents, becoming it one of the Italian vocal groups with the most international presence. The originality of the performances goes well with the repertoire consisting exclusively of Italian music, which crosses into different musical styles. From swing, to bossa nova, from mambo to tango, from big band arrangements to classical music; the show spans decades of Italian musical culture. Often the Mezzotono have combined concerts with seminars related to choral vocals and Italian language at universities all over the world. (9Colonne)
