(June 7, 2017) The photographer Elisabetta Catalano (1941 – 2015) has lived and worked in Rome. An internationally renowned portraitist, she is considered to be the best witness of the life of the artists and characters of literature, art, entertainment and culture in general who have crossed the history of Italy from the Seventies to the present. Catalano’s photographer debut is on Fellini’s 8½ set, in which she plays the role of Anouk Aimée’s sister. On the set, in free time, she starts shooting with an old camera from her father and the shots are released on Espresso and Il Mondo. Afterwards, Fellini will call her to take a picture on the set of his other films. The great director will be several times in her studio, and later will choose some of these portraits for the covers of his books. To her is dedicated the exhibition “Elisabetta Catalano. Precious Testaments”, open to the public until June 25 at the MAMM, the Multimedia Art Museum in Moscow, and organized in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture of the Russian Capital. The exhibition will take place at the festival “Fashion and Style in Photography” and presents for the first time to the Russian public the work of the Roman photographer. (PO / Red)
