Brussels. La Sapienza University in Rome opens a new research support office in Brussels, close to major European institutions, with the aim of strengthening international university partnerships and exploiting the potential of EU resources, both in terms of funding for projects of common interest and in those linked to higher education and mobility. The operation did not include additional costs for the University to benefit of an additional building in Brussels for collaborations already underway with other Italian research organisations involved in European programmes. “Europe is our home, and with this operation we want to confirm the availability of our university to play its part in overall progress, giving voice to projects and Italian excellence in the European community – emphasizes the Rector of the Sapienza, Eugenio Gaudio. The opportunities offered by the European institutional network are many and it will be our merit to be able to take advantage of it, as with a major funding that the European Investment Bank has given us: our life-blood in times of crisis”. The President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani; MEPs Silvia Costa, Roberto Gualtieri, and Gianni Pittella; representatives of research and university institutions were present at the ribbon cutting ceremony of the new building, alongside the Rector of the Sapienza University.
