Melbourne – “Ritratti” (Portraits) is the name of the volume published by the Consulate General in Melbourne to tell the creative story of thirty-one Italian-Australian artists. Melbourne is home to a lively group of artists of Italian origins, and the Consulate General has selected those considered “the most brilliant expressionists that offer a different perspective”: “Some have created their art in a form of narrative, while others chose to focus on their visual impact; others use traditional oil painting, engraving techniques or video-makers. The publication consists of a series of figures that share a strong bond with our country and whose Italians are often a precious source of inspiration to draw from”. (Red) The inaugural ceremony was attended by Consul General Marco Maria Cerbo, who, in front of an audience of several dozen people, recalled that Italy was the home of the richest cultural heritage in the world and underlined how the lessons of the great masters of the past Is perceptible in the work of the artists chosen to be included in the volume.(9Colonne)
