Beirut – Alto Adige confirms its commitment to international cooperation in areas particularly affected by war, climate events or poverty-stricken with the project supported by the development cooperation of the Lebanon Province and in particular the Bekaa Valley. The project is aimed at supporting and promoting good co-existence between Lebanese and Syrian people. In this area, the increasing number of refugees is pushing public services to the limit and aggravating social tensions in the country, which urgently needs international aid. In the municipalities of El Ain with about 30,000 inhabitants and Al Qaa, 12,000 inhabitants, GVC, the Italian NGO based in Alto Adige, thanks to its experience in the social and development cooperation sector, financially supported by the Province of Bolzano, started last Winter training courses. Partners are the local authorities and target groups are Lebanese and Syrian young people. 60 young people participate in training as IT technicians, hairdressers and graphic designers, 50 more young people are involved in programs with local authorities.
