Cairo. Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met with the CEO of ENI, Claudio Descalzi. During the meeting, which focused mainly on the future of Zohr’s mega field and on the positive impact it will have on the national energy economy, CEO of ENI Claudio Descalzi illustrated the rapid progress of the project to the Egyptian Prime Minister. Thanks to the important operational synergies that ENIi has been able to exploit with its facilities in the area, Zohr has achieved, in less than two years after its discovery, a record level of completion of 80% in the oil industry. With a potential of 850 billion cubic meters of gas, Zohr will not only be able to satisfy almost the total domestic demand for gas for decades, but will also be able to create the conditions to allow Egypt to return to being a net exporter of energy.
