(August 3, 2017) – Ancient knowledge and technological innovation for a more environmentally friendly future, capable of rediscovering and enhancing the millennial culture of Sardinia: on these coordinates will be the program of initiatives that will see Sardinia protagonist of the Italian Pavilion at Expo Astana 2017 from August 13 to 19. Good practices and innovation stories will therefore be the central element of the week for Sardinia: a 12-minute high emotional impact video produced by the Sardinia Film Commission will take on the task of introducing the island to international visitors. In addition, there will be screenings of short films from the project on Sustainability Heroes 20.20.20, promoted by Sardegna Film Commission Foundation, Sardegna Ricerche and the Energy Office of the Industry Department. The videos tell stories of best practice everyday and excellence related to energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, bio architecture and new rurality. “The Expo – says the Assessor of Tourism, Crafts and Trade Barbara Argiolas – is a great international showcase and this year is geared to an audience that includes the former Soviet republics, many of them in economic ascent thanks to natural resources, Russia and China: all markets that need to be looked at carefully. This is an opportunity to present an innovative and contemporary image of Sardinia, combining a millennial history, an unspoiled landscape with a capacity to renew itself, with sustainability at its center. This is the distinctive element we bring to the expo: environment, history, identity that make a synthesis in an authentic idea of Sardinia’s economic development.
