(August 26, 2017) It will be inaugurated on September 1 at the Italian Cultural Institute in Osaka – Space Art, Japan, “From Heart to Heart – Works by Mauro Bellucci”, personal exhibition of the artist. The concept “i shin den shin” corresponds to the idiomatic expression of religious origin, “heart to heart”, well-known in Japan and adopted in different social contexts. It indicates the ability of two people to communicate beyond the need for words, through silence and sharing of emotions. This concept is the basis of Bellucci’s expressive research, whose goal is obviously to engage the spectator in a silent, almost meditative relationship with his own work. Tha Artist (Voghera, 1959) was born in Voghera (PV) in 1959, graduated in Japanese lexicography at Pavia University, for several years practiced the art of calligraphy from the Far East. Focusing on Japanese culture, Mauro artistic achievement is a balanced mixture of the previous Oriental experiences with personal and Western taste.
In his works he uses as basic technique the collage on various materials, by using different basic materials, using hand-made Nepalese paper and Japanese sumi ink.
The collage technique allows Bellucci to research on tri-dimensional aspects played by the transparency property of the paper: a dialogue between emptiness ad fullness, also inspired by zen aesthetic concepts which are the main features of his art. Bellucci regularly exhibits in public and private spaces, and has also designed the logo for the Jetro in Milan in 2010 and the CD cover for the Akira Kurosawa box set in 2008 (sold in Italy). (Red)
