(September 22, 2017) Writer, director and painter: Lorenza Mazzetti, class 1927, lives between Rome and Bolsena, where she paints and continues to write. Two nights will be dedicated to her by the Italian Cultural Institute of Budapest: on September 27 at 6pm will be screened the film “The sky falls” with Isabella Rossellini, inspired by the same autobiographical novel by Mazzetti, and the following day, at 6pm , will be screened the documentary “Why I’m a Genius” by Steve Della Casa and Francesco Frisari. Director Edoardo Salerno will attend the evening. Lorenza Mazzetti spends her childhood in Tuscany in a great estate of her father’s sister family, Nina Mazzetti, married to Robert Einstein, Albert’s cousin. Here she spends joyful and happy years in the company of the daughters of her uncles, until in the August of ’44, Lorenza is witness to the execution of the Einstein family by a team of SSs, a story that will mark her life forever . After graduating high school, she moved to London where she is admitted to the Slade School of Fine Art. Here she made her first feature-length “K”, thanks to which she became one of the founders of the Free Cinema Movement, along with Lindsay Anderson, Tony Richardson Karel Reisz, the generation of the “angry” who would soon revolutionize English cinema protesting the upper class. Soon after that, she made “Together” which won the “Mension au film del recherch” at the Cannes Film Festival in 1956. (PO / Red)
