Tokyo – From the Middle East to the Far East, the three major seasonal festivals, Haifa, Busan and Tokyo, feature a wide selection of Italian titles. The common denominator is the film of the Taviani brothers, “A Private Matter”, that arrives at all three festivals, demonstrating, after the preview of Toronto, a full international recognition. Seven Italian films at the Haifa International Film Festival (October 5-14), Israeli kermesse arrived at its 33rd edition. Next will be the 22nd edition of the Busan International Film Festival (October 12/21) with its imposing parallel market. Here again, there are seven invited Italian films: Silvia Luzi and Luca Bellino will bring their debut film, “The Crater”, at the 30th Tokyo International Film Festival, where they will represent Italy in the official competition.
