Shama. Sunday was the last day of the training session that saw the Italian contingent in Lebanon simultaneously engaged in two multinational exercises, “Steel Storm” and “Blue Phoenix 1-17”. The semi-annual “Steel Storm”, aims to improve the efficiency of peacekeepers in terms of the use of individual weapons and wardens in conjunction with the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) and, at the same time, to verify and improve coordination. In addition to focusing on exercise, it also included the implementation of special procedures such as Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) also involving ITALAIR, the United Nations Air Force in Lebanon consisting of pilots and helicopters of the Italian Armed Forces.
