Amsterdam. On the occasion of the Week of Italian Language in the World, the Italian Institute of Culture of the Netherlands in Amsterdam proposes the screening of ten short films thanks to the Italian Short Film Centre. Other films are: Luciano Emmer’s “Le ragazze di piazza di Spagna” (Girls of the Spanish Steps), Vittorio De Sica’s “Matrimonio all’Italiana” (Marriage Italian Style), Lina Wertmüller’s “Mimì metallurgico ferito nell’onore” (The Seduction of Mimì), which are part of a retrospective realised thanks to the collaboration between the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Istituto Luce Cinecittà. This will help those who wish to take an Italian language course. This year’s 17th Week of Italian Language in the World (October 16-22) is dedicated to the link between Italian Language and Cinema in its various aspects and historical phases. On Tuesday, October 24th, Claudio Magris will be a guest at the IIC where he will present the Dutch translation of his book “Non luogo a procedere” (Blameless). (9colonne)
