Prague. The ex libris exhibition “Eva, la donna eterna” (Eve, the eternal woman) will remain open until February 28th in the Loggiato of the Italian Institute of Culture in Prague. It brings together more than one hundred engravings by European masters and artists. The works are a tribute to the female body and universe, with clear references to mythology and Greek tragedy. The Christian and Western tradition develops alongside the classic tradition through “courtly love” in the early Middle Ages and the Renaissance and reaching the iconography of our days characterised by the stratification of visual cinematographic imagery and media. The exhibition is proving to be a meeting point for many enthusiasts and collectors of graphic works and bibliophiles who in recent years have given rise to an intense activity of exchange. After Prague, the experts met in Bodio Lomnago, in the province of Varese, where the fourth international meeting dedicated to ex libris will be held from 20th to 22nd of April. The exhibition is organised by the Italian Association Ex-Libris and the IIC of Prague, in collaboration with the municipality of Bodio Lomnago and the Xotaris Cultural Association. (9Colonne)
