Lisbon. “Cinema e moda: amiche dell’immagine” (Cinema and Fashion: Friends of the Picture) is the theme of the Stefania Giacomini’s conference organised by the Italian Institute of Culture of Lisbon on Wednesday May 23rd at 11:00. As part of the “Making Cinema” initiative, the first Week of Italian Cinema in the World promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, in collaboration with Mibact, The IIC will host the journalist, who is a 36-year veteran of RAI. As a conductor and envoy (to China, Australia, Dubai, Montenegro), she has collaborated in the past with Panorama, Il Messaggero, Il Globo, L’Avanti, and HearstNewpaper. During the conference, Giacomini highlights the collaboration and affinities between the world of cinema and that of fashion, through the stories of those who live and work with the stars and international directors backstage: from costume designers (many of them Oscar Award-winners) to make-up artists, and hairstylists. Giacomini is the author of the award-winning book ‘Il successo vien con l’abito’ translated into English (Dress Makes Success), ‘Alla Scoperta del Set’ (Discovering the Set), Rai Eri editions, and ‘Moda e Mass Media’ (Fashion and Mass Media) Pioda editions.
