Krakow – Tomorrow, Wednesday, January 30th, at 19:00, the Italian Cultural Institute in Krakow will screen Gianni Amelio’s 2017 film”, starring Elio Germano, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Micaela Ramazzotti, Greta Scacchi, and Renato Carpentieri (best actor at the 2018 Davids). Lorenzo (Renato Carpentieri) is a senior lawyer who has just survived a heart attack. He lives alone in Naples in a beautiful house in the city centre, since his wife died and his two adult sons, Elena (Giovanna Mezzogiorno), and Saverio (Arturo Muselli), have moved away. Or did he distance them? Upon his return from the hospital, Lorenzo finds a young and sunny woman who has locked herself out of the house on the stairs in front of his door, Michela (Micaela Ramazzotti). The lawyer gives her access to reenter from the back yard that the two apartments share. That sharing of space is destined not to end: Michela and her family – her husband Fabio (Elio Germano), an engineer from Northern Italy, and her children Bianca and Davide – will enter the lawyer’s life with a surprising speed and pervasiveness. But an even more unexpected event will revolutionise that new harmony, perhaps creating the possibility to recover an older one. (9Colonne)
