(Apr. 20) – Great expectations for the workshop ‘Italia’, to be held in Budapest on April 24, so far signed up from 12 Italian tour operators and more than 35 Hungarian buyers. The operational meeting, organized with the support of the ENIT office in Budapest, is aimed at promoting, supporting and increasing tourist flows from Hungary towards both traditional and lesser known Italian destinations, now easily accessible thanks to the new routes introduced by many low cost air-companies. Families and couples without children are the preferred target of the touristic offer. Despite the international economic crisis, signs of recovery in the real economy justify a confident attitude for 2012. Hungarian operators believe in a general revival of tourism consumption and this initiative will create profitable and lasting business relationships with Italy. “By next summer – said Paolo Rubini, general director of the ENIT – the June and July will be crucial for reservations. Cultural sites and seaside resorts are the most popular, often in combination, and the preferred location are Jesolo, Bibione, Lignano, Riccione, Cattolica and art cities, such as Rome, Florence and Venice. It is also growing the interest in Tuscany, Puglia and Sicily.” (Red/Peg)
