(May 16) – The Italian textile machinery industry warms up for the ITMA ASIA + CITME exhibition which will be held in Shanghai from 12-16 June. The event is a major textile machinery trade show which is held every two year in China. gain this year, the Italian contingent is one of the largest to attend, with 117 manufactures that will be on show at the Shangai New International Expo Centre. The Italian products in China are characterized by the completeness of range and by the maximum attention placed on the efficiency and sustainability of the technology presented. From spinning to weaving, from knitwear to finishing, visitors from all over Asia will be able to see the high technological level of Made in Italy.
Sandro Salmoiraghi, ACIMIT President, commented this participation: “China is our top market in the world. In 2011, we sold €450m ($581m) worth of textile machinery to Chinese companies (25% of its export business). The demand from Chinese companies, is increasingly more sophisticated,” continued Salmoiraghi. “In China, our customers need a qualitative upgrade in the machinery they use. Efficiency, cost reduction and environmental sustainability are issues which come up time and again in negotiations for machinery sales in China.” The ACIMIT “Sustainable Technologies” project, already presented at ITAM Barcelona last September moves in this direction. The green label, which contains some fundamental information on efficiency and environmental sustainability, is placed on the machinery made by companies participating in the project and represents an operation of transparency.
