(May 25) After the second-place of Raphael Gualazzi in the last edition, Italy will participate again in the European Song Contest (ESC). Nina Zilli, singer-songwriter from Piacenza, winner of “Sanremo Nuova Generazione” at the 60th Sarenmo Music Festival, will represent Italy in the event, born in 1956 and organized by European Broadcasting Union. The ESC’s final will be fully broadcasted in Italian tomorrow, from 9 pm on RAI 2. Italy, which is part of the “Big Five”, has the right to reach the final evening with Nina Zilli, who will perform “Out Of Love”, the international version of “L’amore è femmina”. This year’s event will be hosted by Azerbaijan (winner of the 2011 edition with the song “Running Scared” by Eli and Nikki) from the capital city, Baku. 42 countries are taking part in the festival and artists have been selected through the most important musical events in each country. The Eurovision Song Contest is considered a real event: the 2011 edition, which was held in Dusseldorf in front of 36,000 spectators, has been watched on TV by about 70 million viewers. (Gil/Peg)
