(Jun. 8th) – A multifunctional center and a tourist information office will be inaugurated tomorrow in South Albania’s Permet, at the presence of the Italian Ambassador, Massimo Gaiani, and the Honorary Consul to Gjirokaster, Teodor Bilushi, and other authorities. The center is part of the project ” Tourist and environmental valorization of the Permet area and its traditional products”, promoted by the Italian NGO CESVI, and financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Directorate General for Development Cooperation with a contribution of about 840,000 euros. The initiative has been promoting the development of sustainable tourism in the district of Permet, an area of great emigration excluded from social and economic change in Albania. The work of the CESVI helped to valorizing the area’s natural heritage and local products also through a sensitization of the local authorities and communities. The project will also include the creation of a consortium for promoting tourism and the development of standards health and hygiene procedures. (Red)
