(Jun. 11) The Italian contemporary dance gains success in France, where it found spaces to express itself and be appreciated. Tomorrow, Compagnia Zappalà Danza will be on stage in Paris, at the prestigious Thé â tre de la Ville, with the show “A. Semu tutti devoti tutti?”. Thé â tre de la Ville is one of the most important venues for contemporary dance and it has included the Italian show in its festival Chantiers d’Europe. Starting from the procession of Saint Agatha – one of the largest in the Christian world – ” A. Semu tutti devoti tutti?” explores the relationship between spirituality and devotion, suggesting analogies between religious and sport fanaticism, and indicates the threshold beyond which devotion becomes sadism. The Compagnia Zappalà Danza is active in Sicily and is considered by the critic one of the most interesting reality of Italian contemporary dance. (Red)
