(Jun. 18) – Floriade 2012, the event dedicated to flowers and gardening, will host the very first international appearance of the Fondazione Dolomiti Unesco. The expo, in Venlo until, October 7th, takes place every ten years in a different location in the Netherlands, a country known for its plants and cut flowers. The Dolomites are a unique natural garden and its flowers are incomparable and Floriade is the right occasion to show them to an international audience. From yesterday and until June 24th the Italian pavilion will host the Province of Belluno, Bolzano, Trento, Udine and Pordenone to promote the best of the Dolomitic area. To organize the presence of the Fondazione Dolomiti in Venlo there have been involved natural, cultural, tourist, literary, scientific agencies from the area. The result was a highly respected program printed in three different languages: English, German and Dutch (assuming that 40% of visitors to Floriade come from the Netherlands, another 40% from Westphalia and the remaining 20% from Great Britain, France, China and Italy). One of the events will also provide an English presentation by geologist Piero Gianolla and landscape painter Cesare Micheletti. (Red)
