(Aug. 20) On Thursday 23 August at 6:30 pm, in cooperation with the Galleria monogramma in Rome, the Italian Cultural Institute of La Valletta, Malta, will inaugurate an art exhibition by the internationally renowned artist Angela Pellicanò, who will be present at the opening ceremony. Famous for her ceramics, the artist will bring to Malta her efforts in favor of women, against the oppression brought on by those emotional or physical ties, which slacken (or even prevent in some parts of the world) women emancipation. Her paintings are full of myths and legends portraying gloomy and toxic atmospheres where it is necessary to use gas masks and other ploys to survive. The approach to and analysis of her works translates into a perception of freedom, following a condition of forced imprisonment.
