August 24 – Little scientists all grown up: the 24th final of the European Union Young Scientist contest will present three projects from two Italian girls and four Italian young men, alongside other 80 projects from high-school scientist from 36 countries, including 24 other EU countries, and 12 from Asia, Oceania and America. From September 21 until September 26, the European Commission and its 19 experts will invade Bratislava to announce the winners. Each country’s National Organizers (for Italy, Fast-Federazione), in fact, submitted the projects during the school year, hoping to be selected for the finals and travel to Bratislava. The event is among the most important ones for students above 14 and below 21 all over the European Union, who can participate as individuals or in groups up to three members. The aim of the contest is to promote the idea of cooperation and exchange among students, both at the national and regional level, and it has become a unique window of opportunity to create international networks. The expo also works towards increasing interest in science and research, discovering young talents and promoting spirit of innovation and collaboration.
