Oct. 1 – During the course of this year’s European Congress on Epileptomoly, in London, the Italian League Against Epilepsy (LICE) has been congratulated by the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) for its 50 years of activities dedicated to helping patients and their families. Thanks to LICE and its international network, Italian patients have had access to the most recent medications and highly qualified doctors. Solomon Moshé, president of ILAE, reminded all guests present at the ceremony of the important goals met by the Italian association. Indeed, since 1962, LICE has: defined the guidelines followed by Italian epilepsy centers; collaborated with the State and various Institutions to change laws and regulations on the matter; and has raised awareness among the population. Roberto Michelucci confirmed, after the ceremony, LICE’s desire to continue in its line of work, combatting social prejudices against epilepsy patients.
