The artistic director of the Festival expressed a “great satisfaction with the important flow of public – 40.000 spectators from all over France, but also from neighboring Luxembourg and Belgium – that crowded the halls.
Numerous meetings – 31 in all – with directors, writers and actors of the films were also held. In addition, we are glad we made our contribution to the spread of Italian cinema, having financed ourselves the French subtitles of 9 films, including ‘The Commander and the Stork’ by Silvio Soldini and ‘Ideal City’ by Luigi Lo Cascio.”
This edition was dedicated to the director Giuseppe Ferrara, whose films portray Italian contemporary history from different perspectives: his “Hundred Days in Palermo”, “Guido who challenged the Red Brigades”; ” Bankers of God” and “Narcos” were projected.
