Nov. 15 – The Scientific Council of the Russian Academy of Sciences bestowed upon the Secretary General of Eurispes, Marco Ricceri, an honorary degree to underline his long-term contribution to the development of scientific cooperation between the Institute of Political, Economic and Social Studies, Eurispes and the European Studies Institute (ESI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as the development of scientific relations between Russia and Italy. The Diploma delivery ceremony was held yesterday in Moscow, in the Great Hall of the ESI. Ricceri is the second Italian to receive this recognition: in 2011, the Archbishop Loris Capovilla, who was secretary of Pope John XXIII received a similar honorary degree. Ricceri, born in Florence in 1946, has a degree in Political Science and is currently secretary general of Eurispes, as well as European Institutions and History of European Integration professor and Secretary of the Ethics Committee of the European Agency for the Investments, based in Brussels. He is an expert in European social policy and industrial relations, he is a co-founder, via his work at Eurispes, of the following European Research Groups: SUPI (Berlin) on the theme of “Social Insecurity”; ESM (Bremen-London-Rome); and EN-RLMM on “European Labor Market.” Ricceri is also a member of the Committee of Auditors of the E.S.F. – European Science Foundation, Strasbourg, for the subjects: “European social policy” and “industrial relations”. He is also President of the Body for Independent Evaluation of the Italian Agency for the internationalization of enterprises. Finally, Ricceri has promoted collaboration between Eurispes, La Sapienza University of Rome and the Russkiy Mir Foundation for the construction of periodic Italo-Russian Forum of Innovations.
