Nov. 15 – Francesco Lorenzi (vocals and guitar), Matthew Reghelin (bass), Gianluca Menegozzo (guitar) and Riccardo Rossi (drums) are the testimonials for “A Christmas back to basics.” The Sun, the first Italian Christian rock band, completed a long and intense journey in Palestine, which allowed them to play live in Nablus, Taybeh, Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Beit Sahour. They are now back to engage in social issues with their voice, enthusiasm and music in favor of the weaker parties. The band has been selected for the new fundraising campaign sponsored by ATS pro Terra Sancta, the Franciscan NGO for the Custody of the Holy Land that meets the most immediate needs of children, young people, families and elders in Bethlehem by providing medical and public health. “During our stay in Bethlehem – says the band leader Francesco Lorenzi – we lived in close contact with the local community. Some families hosted us, and it was possible for us to focus our attention on the difficult realities of Bethlehem. In this city, which should be a beacon of hope and peace for the whole world, there are still serious discomforts due to general malpractices. So we decided to put our talent at the disposal of the most vulnerable: children, families and the elderly. We also support other projects carried out by ATS pro Terra Sancta in Bethlehem.”
