Nov. 27 – “Che bellu Presebbio …. Quant’è bello.” So speaks one of the main characters in one of Eduardo de Filippo’s comedies, “Natale in casa Cupiello”. In De Filippo’s theater, the catchphrase “Te piace ‘o presep?” is still one of his most famous lines; also the author was able to find the exact preparation method of the nativity scene typical of Neapolitan culture. And now that Christmas is approaching, this tradition comes around as protagonist in Naples. This time to enhance the Neapolitan nativity art, the Italian Institute of Culture in Budapest will organize the exhibition “Italy and the East – Exhibition of Neapolitan Nativity Art.” The show, open to the public from Thursday, 6 December until 6 January at the gallery of Xenia Budapest (Bródy Sándor u. 8) sheds light on one of the oldest and most important art forms of the city of Naples. The exhibition will open on Thursday, December 6 to 6pm in the presence of HE Italian Ambassador Maria Assunta Accili. The event was made possible thanks to the collaboration with Chamber of Commerce of Naples that ensured that the magic behind Naples’ traditions remained intact, happily combining creativity and” know-how “skills, new tools and new materials. The result is absolutely stunning.
