Dec. 14 – Eni’s activities in Pakistan continue successfully: yesterday, an agreement was reached with the Pakistani authorities and the Oil State Company OGDCL for the acquisition of 25% of the exploration operators in the Block Offshore Indus Block G, located in the Indus basin. The block, which covers about 7,500 square kilometers, is located in ultra-deep waters and in a still relatively unexplored and promising offshore basin. These exploration activities provide a multidisciplinary study of the block to define the most appropriate exploration strategy. The joint venture that manages the block is composed of the two State companies, OGDCL (25%) and PPL (25%), ENI (25%) and United Energy Pakistan Limited (25%). With this acquisition, ENI strengthens its presence in the Pakistani offshore business, adding to its significant presence in other offshore blocks: Indus Block C (owned by ENI at 60%) and N Block (owned by ENI at 70%), and the just acquired Indus Block G. ENI has been present in Pakistan since 2000 and is the largest international manufacturer in the country, with an average equity production of 58,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
