Dec. 14 – The Marche Region’s economic mission to Tunis began on Tuesday, opening a new season of interactions with Africa. Tunis represents a first and important promotional phase, in a country that overlooks the Mediterranean, with a historic vocation for economic and trade relations with Italy. However, the mission aims to strengthen exchanges with the entire African continent. The delegation, led by the Regional Councillor Maura Malaspina, is composed of 18 companies that have been in contact with dozens of Libyan and Tunisian entrepreneurs. On the first day, in Tunis, there was the inauguration of “Tunisia-Italy Home,” a Marche Region project by Piceno Promotion – a Special Agency of the Chamber of Commerce – and Unioncamere Ascoli Marche. During the presentation, the Italian ambassador in Tunis, Pietro Benassi, said: “Tunisia is going through an important transition phase and it offers good opportunities for businesses.
Coming to Tunisia for Marche companies is an easy to achieve internationalization project, considering the proximity of the two countries. This is the reason why there are currently 700 Italian companies, and among these various are working in the field of renewable energy.” The Tunisian Minister for Investment and Cooperation, Riadh Bettaieb, showed how the Tunisia-Italy Home project “consolidates the strong relations between Tunisia and the Marches. I am happy to see among us even our Libyan brothers and friends. I take this opportunity to thank the Governor Gian Mario Spacca. Tunisia is today available incentive schemes to attract foreign investment. The construction of a new Tunisia is the real challenge to be overcome.”
