Jan. 15 – “It is a hymn to the celebration of life that comes and goes, because love is like life, it is born, it dies and is reborn” says Gianna Nannini about her new album, “Anthem”, coming out today in Italy and in Europe. The album, the eighteenth in the artist’s career, comes two years after the success of “You and I” and contains twelve new tracks produced by the songwriter and Wil Malone. “Anthem” was recorded in London between Rak and Abbey Road Studios. Wil Malone conducts the London Studio Orchestra, as well as arranging the strings, thus creating a unique sound architecture that envelops Nannini’s voice in a particular manner. This can already by appreciated in the first single, “The End of the World,” on top of the radio charts. The album is filled with other exceptional collaborations: in addition to Wil Malone, historical producer for Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Verve, and Depeche Mode, and Gianna Nannini, very involved with the synth, Davide Tagliapietra’s tough on guitar is noticeable, as well as special guests Christian Eigner and Peter Gordeno respectively drums, and piano and keyboards players for Depeche Mode, and Francis Hylton, bass musician for Incognito.
